Touching into Ourselves, A monthly online workshop
Time & Location
About the Event
In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to explore how events and circumstances that have occurred within your own life and family, particularly while you were in utero and during your earliest years, have been internalized within you and now impact your happiness, well-being, and relationships. Trauma, whether we have directly experienced it or inherited it from somewhere else in our family systems, causes a split in the psyche. A traumatized part holding the memory and emotions of the trauma splits off and a survival part (with strategies such as avoidance, dissociation, controlling behaviors, addictions, etc.) develops in order to make sure we do not experience the unbearable pain of the trauma at a time when we are too vulnerable to cope with it. It is a natural protective measure in the absence of an opportunity for an immediate healing response, and all humans, to one degree or another, have splits. That said, it's essential to remember that, in addition to the traumatized and survival parts, we retain a healthy part. The balance of those parts shifts throughout our lives and even over the course of a day.
The process used in this workshop (read about 'The Intention Method' on the Constellations/IoPT tab) provides an opportunity for individuals to safely and gently gain insight into their splits with the ultimate goal of being able to integrate the traumatized parts. This integration renders the survival parts, which preclude health and vitality, unnecessary, and allows the individual to embrace the life-enhancing potential and energy that were sequestered when the traumatized part split off. While there will likely only be time in each workshop for two people to work directly with Katrina, the nature of this work depends largely on the shared energy and experience of the group and so the movements that take place and resolutions that are found have meaning for all who participate or observe. The price listed here is the base fee for all participants. If you would like to have a working place in this workshop (meaning you will have the opportunity to work directly with an issue relevant to you), please contact Katrina directly, specifying the workshop date you are referencing. These working places are available for each workshop date at an additional $50 each (this amount will be billed after your working status is confirmed). This workshop recurs every four weeks on Sunday, from 10:00am - 1:00pm Mountain time
