A free Introduction to IoPT and The Intention Method

  • 2 hours
  • Online via Zoom

Service Description

IoPT (Identity-oriented Psychotrauma Theory) and its practical tool, The Intention Method, can support anyone who feels that their life does not fully reflect their values, yearnings, and potential. In particular, IoPT helps us to understand the often-overlooked impact that early childhood and transgenerational trauma has on our identity, our relationships, our mental and physical health, our ability to know and get what we want, and on our capacity to express ourselves in life-affirming ways. In this free monthly event, we will give you a brief overview of the theory behind IoPT, discuss the relationship between trauma and identity, and invite you to observe or participate in a simplified experience of The Intention Method, a “self-encounter”. As facilitators of IoPT, we (Katrina Mikah and Anja Jaskolski) warmly invite you to perceive and receive yourself with deep recognition of your innate worth and innocence, and to consider the possibility that there are ways you were hurt, or core needs not met when you were very small, that may be at the root of what you struggle with today. Though the root lies in the past, the potential for healing exists today. Should this free introductory event speak to you, we are available to support you through one-on-one IoPT sessions or through group IoPT workshops. Note: IoPT involves deep self-reflection and offers a means of recovering from the effects of trauma, but it is not therapy. Given this and the focus in this workshop on the sensitive topic of trauma and traumatization, it is required that you are willing and able to take responsibility for your own self-care. Registration and a signed release of liability and informed consent is required in order to participate. WHEN: This free introductory workshop occurs every third Wednesday and occasionally on other days. To see dates beyond the next 7 days, click 'Book Now' and look for calendar dates marked with a green dot. IF YOU ARE ATTEMPTING TO BOOK WITHIN 24 HOURS OF THE EVENT START TIME, YOU WILL NEED TO EMAIL KATRINA DIRECTLY AT INFO@KATRINAMIKIAH.COM. BOOKING WITHIN THIS WINDOW IS NOT GUARANTEED.
