Service Description

In this workshop, you will have an opportunity to explore how events and circumstances that have occurred within your own life and family, particularly while you were in utero and during your earliest years, have been internalized within you and now impact your happiness and well-being. Trauma, whether we have directly experienced it or inherited it from somewhere else in our family systems, causes a split in the psyche. A traumatized part holding the memory and emotions of the trauma splits off and a survival part (with strategies such as avoidance, dissociation, controlling behaviors, addictions, etc.) develops in order to make sure we do not experience the unbearable pain of the trauma at a time when we are too vulnerable to cope with it. It is a natural protective measure in the absence of an opportunity for an immediate healing response, and all humans, to one degree or another, have splits. That said, it's essential to remember that, in addition to the traumatized and survival parts, we retain a healthy part. The balance of those parts shifts throughout our lives and even over the course of a day. The process used in this workshop (read about 'The Intention Method' on the tab labeled IoPT) provides an opportunity for individuals to gain insight into their splits with the ultimate goal of being able to integrate the traumatized parts. This integration renders the survival parts, which preclude health and vitality, unnecessary, and allows the individual to embrace the life-enhancing potential and energy that were sequestered when the traumatized part split off. There will be time in the workshop for two self-encounters but because the nature of this work depends largely on the shared energy and experience of the group, the movements that take place and resolutions that are found have meaning for all who participate or observe. Working spots can be reserved in advance on a first come basis. In order to make my services accessible to anyone who can benefit, I do not have fixed fees. Instead, I invite you to donate an amount that is within your financial means. The recommended range if you are participating as an observer or in a supportive role is between $25 and $50. If you are having a self-encounter of your own, the recommended range is between $45 and $95. Book your place in and attend the workshop. When the workshop ends, you will receive an email with a link inviting you to make a donation.
